At GM4Women2028, we know that meaningful progress towards gender equality happens when people gather to share experiences, challenge assumptions and turn ideas into action.

That's exactly what our annual Dialogue, Deeds & Determination events are all about.

In July, we're bringing our community together once again for a day of discussion, collaboration and collective action in Rochdale. With just three Dialogue, Deeds & Determination events remaining before we reach the end of our 10-year campaign in 2028, this is a chance to consider progress, strengthen connections and shape what comes next.

Volunteers needed – help make the event happen

We’re also looking for volunteers to support the delivery of this event. Dialogue, Deeds & Determination simply wouldn’t be possible without the support of our volunteer team, who play a vital role in helping the day run smoothly. We're currently recruiting volunteers to:

Set-up and prepare on Friday 3rd July (the day before the event)
Provide support on Saturday 4th July, including welcoming attendees, registration, wayfinding and general assistance throughout the day
Tidy up on Saturday 4th July after the event

Why this event matters

Dialogue, Deeds & Determination forms a key part of our work to make Greater Manchester a safer, fairer, better and more equal place for women and girls by discussing the issues that matter most and identifying practical actions for change.

Our yearly Pankhurst–Fawcett Scorecards highlight where inequalities persist in our five thematic areas of education, employment, safety, participation, and culture and active lives. Dialogue, Deeds & Determination provides the space to explore what those findings mean in practice and what we can do collectively to address them.

What to expect in Rochdale

The day will feature a varied programme of discussion, networking and participation, including:

Conversations rooted in lived experience and community insight.
Opportunities to hear from individuals, community groups, charities, policymakers and equality advocates.
Interactive sessions designed to generate ideas, forge partnerships and inspire action.
Time to connect with others committed to creating positive change in the city region.

Refreshments, lunch and informal networking is also available throughout the day.

Amongst the prominent guest speakers and contributors are Kate Green, Deputy Mayor for Greater Manchester, Councillor Faisal Rana, Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Iram Faisal, Mayoress of Rochdale, and Hannah Spencer MP, who will deliver the closing speech.
