Turning conversations into a visual story: capturing Dialogue, Deeds & Determination 2026

Last Saturday, our community gathered at Rochdale Library for Dialogue, Deeds & Determination 2026 – a day filled with powerful conversations, shared experiences and collective action.

Throughout the event, illustrator Jenny Parkington from Scratchy Hen Design captured the energy, ideas and commitments emerging from the room through a live visual recording. Her vibrant design brings together the themes, messages and moments that shaped the day, creating a lasting reminder of what happens when people come together with the same purpose.

Jenny's finished artwork reflects the many voices that contributed to the event – from discussions around participation in politics to conversations about safety, data and creating more inclusive communities.

More than simply documenting the day, Jenny’s illustration perfectly demonstrates the spirit of collaboration that sits at the heart of our charity. The words and images woven throughout the design represent the determination of our network to keep moving forward and turn dialogue into meaningful deeds.
