We are proud to share that Helen Pankhurst CBE, our founder and convenor, has been named a finalist in the Inspiring Women Awards 2024 in recognition of her leadership and persistent advocacy for gender equality across Greater Manchester and beyond.
The Inspiring Women Awards honour women in the North West of England and North Wales whose work makes a tangible difference in their communities. Helen’s inclusion among such distinguished finalists is a tribute to her decades of dedication to women’s rights, social justice and civic engagement.
Why it matters
Helen has long shaped GM4Women2028’s mission from spearheading projects like Dialogue, Deeds and Determination events to and advocating for structural change at every level. That she's now celebrated by the wider region underscores the impact her work has beyond our organisation.
Recognition like this is not only a personal honour to Helen, but also a spotlight on the work we all do together within the GM4Women2028 community. It draws attention to the issues at the heart of what we do: representation, equity, accountability and systemic change.
Acknowledgements & thanks
We extend heartfelt congratulations to Helen, and gratitude to the Inspiring Women Awards team for shining a spotlight on women who lead with compassion and courage. We also thank every volunteer, supporter, partner and community member whose contributions make her work, and ours, possible.
Let this recognition inspire us all to keep pushing for change, to raise women’s voices and to keep driving toward a fairer Greater Manchester for all women and girls.
