Watch: The spirit of GM4Women2028 in action

ree

In the heart of Bolton’s Imagination Street for Dialogue, Deeds & Determination this July, the energy was electric. We brought together women and male allies united by one goal: to create a safer, better, more equal Greater Manchester for women and girls.

Helen Tither, founder and director of Films Not Words, has put together a video showcasing the day's events.

In the recording, our convenor Helen Pankhurst CBE explains, “It’s about the power of the collective – the power of coming together, sharing experiences and speaking truth.”

This spirit of unity was palpable in the Bolton rooms, a place alive with conversation, determination and hope.

More than half-way through our ten-year journey towards 2028, the statistics show there’s still a long way to go. Inequality continues, and meaningful change demands persistence and resistance. As one voice put it, “If we’re not supporting and backing women – leading by example, acting and making change – you either need to stand up or step aside.”

And, as another speaker said, “This is not the end. It’s not a full stop. It’s a stepping stone towards a better world for women and girls.”

Want to see more from the day? Explore our photo gallery here and relive the energy, colour and inspiration that filled the rooms.

The invitation is open: join us, be part of the change and let’s make 2028 a year to remember – not just for what we celebrate, but for what we achieve together.
