Dialogue, Deeds & Determination, 4th July, Rochdale Library

Greater Manchester's annual gathering for gender equality

Every year, GM4Women2028 brings together people from across Greater Manchester to reflect on progress, share experiences and help shape the future of gender equality in our city region.

Dialogue, Deeds & Determination is where conversations become commitments and ideas become action.

Join us in Rochdale on Saturday 4th July for a day of thought-provoking discussion, inspiring speakers, creative performances, practical workshops and meaningful connections. Together, we'll explore the issues affecting women and girls today while identifying the actions needed to create lasting change tomorrow.

With only three Dialogue, Deeds & Determination events remaining before the conclusion of our 10-year campaign in 2028, this year's gathering is an important milestone in our collective journey towards equality.

What can you expect in Rochdale?

Throughout the day at Dialogue, Deeds & Determination, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Take part in open and honest conversations rooted in lived experience.

• Explore insights, evidence and data on gender equality across Greater Manchester.

• Hear from women, girls, male allies, community organisations, charities, policymakers and equality advocates.

• Enjoy engaging performances and interactive workshop sessions.

• Build relationships, forge partnerships and discover new collaborations.

• Share lunch, refreshments and informal networking with others committed to positive change.

Why attend?

Dialogue, Deeds & Determination forms a key part of our mission to make Greater Manchester a safer, fairer, better and more equal place for women and girls.

Each year, our Pankhurst–Fawcett Scorecards highlight where inequalities persist across our five thematic areas. This event explores what those findings mean in practice and identifies meaningful actions that individuals, communities, organisations and decision-makers can take together.

It's free to attend but places are capped. Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.

A preview of what's to come

Annually, our community comes together with passion, determination and a shared commitment to progress.

If you're still wondering what to expect, watch our short film from Dialogue, Deeds & Determination 2025 in Bolton's Imagination Street, created by Helen Tither of Films Not Words.

Helen's film captures the energy, collaboration and sense of purpose that make these in-person events so special.

Volunteers needed!

We need your help to make the event a success. Dialogue, Deeds & Determination simply wouldn't be possible without the support of our volunteer team.

We're looking for volunteers to help deliver the event, including:

• Setting up and preparing the venue on Friday 3rd July.
• Assisting with activities on Saturday 4th July.
• Packing down and tidying up after the event on Saturday 4th July.

Volunteering is a great way to meet members of our community, gain experience supporting a large public event and play a direct role in advancing gender equality.

If you're able to lend a hand before, during or after the event, we'd love to hear from you.
