We've received a £2,000 donation from Butterfly Data, alongside an offer of specialist data gathering and insight support for our 2026 Pankhurst-Fawcett Scorecard. This combined financial and in-kind contribution will help strengthen the robustness and impact of our evidence base as we move into the final years of our ten-year campaign.
Butterfly Data is a values-led data consultancy that works with organisations to use data ethically and for social good. Its support pledge recognises the importance of high-quality data in understanding the lived experiences of women and girls across Greater Manchester, and in holding decision-makers to account for progress on gender equality.
The Pankhurst-Fawcett Scorecard and its accompanying thematic briefs covering five areas – these being employment, participation, education, safety, and culture and active lives – is at the heart of our work. Produced annually, the Scorecard brings together data across ten key indicators to track change for women and girls in the city region’s ten boroughs. With Butterfly Data’s backing, our 2026 Scorecard can be enhanced through more vigorous data collection, improved analysis and clearer insight into where inequalities persist, for whom, and why.
A shared commitment in their own words
A note of thanks from our convenor, Helen Pankhurst CBE:
“We’re very grateful to Butterfly Data for both their generous donation and their commitment to supporting our ongoing data work. Strong, trustworthy evidence is essential if we are to measure progress honestly and push for meaningful change. As we approach the final stretch of GM4Women2028’s decade-long initiative, running from 2018 to 2028, this support can ensure our Scorecard remains a powerful tool for accountability and action.”
A message from Butterfly Data’s co-founder and director, Sara Boltman:
“Our mission is to empower organisations to use data responsibly and in ways that create real human impact. As a B-Corp dedicated to inclusivity and social value, we believe robust evidence is crucial to advancing equality. We’re pleased to assist GM4Women2028 with our dual offering of a monetary donation and data expertise to elevate the Scorecard’s ability to highlight inequalities and drive progress that makes a difference.”

A shared commitment to ethical, evidence-led change
Butterfly Data’s focus on ethical data use and social impact closely aligns with our values. Both organisations share a belief that data should serve people, support accountability and drive fairer outcomes – particularly for those whose experiences are too often overlooked.
We extend sincere thanks to Butterfly Data and look forward to collaborating on the gender equality agenda in Greater Manchester.
