We're delighted to share that GM4Women2028 has been awarded funding from the National Lottery Awards for All programme, supporting us as we continue our work to create a safer, fairer and more gender-equal Greater Manchester.
This funding marks an important milestone for our movement by enabling us to employ a dedicated paid member of staff, giving us much-needed capacity to keep our campaigns, events and community engagement running smoothly as we move into the final years of our ten-year initiative.
Building stronger foundations for change
Since launching in 2018, we've been powered almost entirely by volunteers – activists, community organisers, academics, survivors, professionals and allies who've given their time, energy and expertise to drive forward gender equality across the region.
The support from the National Lottery Awards for All fund helps us to:
coordinate our work more effectively
deliver consistent and impactful campaigns
expand community participation and engagement
build partnerships across all ten boroughs
ensure our events and projects remain accessible and inclusive
Most importantly, this funding provides stability as we progress towards the completion of our 2028 goal: a Greater Manchester where women and girls can thrive.
Looking ahead
As we approach the last
stretch of our ten-year timeline, this funding arrives at a crucial moment. It allows us to scale our work, grow our reach and run ambitious plans for 2026 to 2028, including:
annual Pankhurst-Fawcett Scorecard Data Reveal & Celebration events
expanded local engagement across all boroughs
yearly Dialogue, Deeds & Determination events
campaigning around our five core themes of safety, participation, employment, education, and culture & active lives
With renewed capacity and community support, we push ahead with optimism, determination and a clear commitment for a better future for Greater Manchester's women and girls.
Thank you to the National Lottery Awards for All fund – and to every person in our community who keeps this movement alive.
