🎤 Dialogue, Deeds & Determination returns this July
On Saturday 4th July, we once again bring together voices from across Greater Manchester for the next event in our ongoing Dialogue, Deeds & Determination series – this time at Rochdale Library.
This inspiring day is about turning conversation into meaningful action. Community groups, charities, feminist campaigners, policymakers and trailblazing women can listen, learn, connect and collaborate on how we can make our city region a safer, fairer and more equal place for women and girls.
Alongside thought-provoking workshops and discussions, attendees can enjoy performances and opportunities to contribute directly to shaping future action plans rooted in lived experience and collective insight.
📅 Saturday 4th July
🕥 10.30am to 4.00pm
📍 Rochdale Library
Why not get into the spirit of the day by wearing the Suffragette colours of purple, green and white? These iconic colours remain a powerful symbol of the women’s rights movement. Whether it’s a scarf, badge, ribbon or full outfit, we’d love to see you bring a touch of Suffragette solidarity to Rochdale.

🎭 SYLVIA arrives at the Lowry this October
One of the most powerful stories connected to the fight for women’s equality is coming to Salford this autumn, as SYLVIA is running at The Lowry from Monday 19th to Saturday 24th October.
This acclaimed hip hop, funk and soul musical tells the story of Sylvia Pankhurst – the grandmother of our charity’s convenor Helen Pankhurst CBE, and a fearless, complex and often-overlooked activist who fought not only for women’s suffrage, but also for working women, marginalised communities and those whose voices were too often ignored.
Created by renowned choreographer and director Kate Prince, SYLVIA combines electrifying music, dynamic choreography and powerful storytelling to bring Sylvia Pankhurst’s legacy to new audiences. Beverley Knight stars in her Olivier Award-winning role as Emmeline Pankhurst, alongside Sharon Rose as Sylvia.
Find out more and book tickets at the Lowry here.
Why not embrace the occasion by wearing the historic Suffragette colours for this event too? Be it subtle or statement making, it’s a wonderful way to celebrating the life and legacy of Sylvia Pankhurst.
The music of SYLVIA is now available to enjoy beyond the stage, with the launch of the official studio cast recording featuring standout songs from the show’s acclaimed score. Audiences can listen on Spotify and order the album online here.
