Season's greetings from GM4Women2028 – and an invitation to start 2026 with purpose

ree

As we reach the end of 2025, all of us at GM4Women2028 want to wish you season's greetings and a happy New Year. The Christmas break offers a moment to pause, rest and reflect – and we want to begin with a heartfelt thank you.

Whether you joined a meeting, came to an event, shared your story, volunteered, supported a campaign or simply championed gender equality in your own way this year, your contribution matters. It strengthens our mission, our movement and our community. We’re endlessly inspired by the people who stand alongside us.

As we send warm festive wishes your way, we’re also looking ahead to the energy, action and empowerment that 2026 will bring. And we’d love you to be part of it.

Join our January community meeting

Start the new year with purpose by joining our first community meeting of 2026 – a gathering of women, girls and male allies from across Greater Manchester:

🗓️ Tuesday 6th January

🕐 1.00pm – 2.00pm

💻 Online via Google Meet

Our monthly meetings are welcoming, inclusive and grounded in shared commitment. They’re an hour of connection, conversation and collective determination – a safe space where every voice counts and everyone is encouraged to listen, learn and lift one another up.

If you’re looking to step into the new year feeling inspired and involved, this is a wonderful place to start.

A look back at our year: news and milestones

As you recharge and enjoy the seasonal holiday, we’d love you to catch up on some of our recent news. Here’s a snapshot, with more available throughout our blog pages:

Save the date for 6th February 2026: The Eventbrite booking page for our Friday 6th February (online) Reveal: Data, Deeds & Determination event from 12-2pm is now live. Attendance is free but registration is essential. Book your place today.

Welcome to our new Trustees: Our Board has grown this year with the appointment of six new Trustees. Cordie Gwilym, Amy Cubey and Nadia Ali joined in September, followed by Bea Forrester, Katrina Fletcher and Sherree Schaefer in November.

The launch of our 'Equality Brew' blog: We introduced a new monthly 'Equality Brew' blog designed to share news and updates from our community. Catch up on our September, October, November and December editions.

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence: For this year’s 16 Days of Activism campaign, we shared daily posts signposting support services and calling for an end to gender-based abuse in all its forms. On 6th December, we gathered at the Emmeline Pankhurst statue in St Peter’s Square, standing together in a powerful act of solidarity and remembrance.

Warmest wishes for the festive season

Thank you for being part of our community. Your involvement fuels real change for a better, fairer and safer Greater Manchester for women and girls.

We hope Yuletide is restful, restorative and full of joy – and we look forward to stepping into 2026 together, with renewed purpose and shared determination.
