Welcome back to your new blend of gender equality news, actions and inspiration from across Greater Manchester – and to our final Equality Brew of the year.
As December arrives, the city is lighting up with festive colour, community spirit and a sense of reflection. It’s a time when many of us look back at the year’s challenges and achievements, and look ahead with renewed determination. For GM4Women2028, this season also marks an important moment in our ongoing work to build a fairer, safer and more equal Greater Manchester for women and girls.
This month’s blog brings together the conversations we’ve been having across the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, shares updates from our blog, highlights standout research shaping the equality agenda, and lists a packed calendar of events where you can connect, learn and take action.
Whether you’re joining us for a gathering (6th December in Manchester), exploring opportunities to get involved or simply staying informed during a busy season, we’re glad to have you with us.
Pour a drink, take a breath and settle in for December’s edition – powered by the incredible energy of our growing community.
Let’s wrap up the year with connection, solidarity and purpose.

👀 What’s caught our attention
The biggest announcement we’ve spotted lately include:
INCLUDE+ 'Online Objectification' research: This important piece of research into online objectification – a growing and deeply harmful form of digital violence disproportionately impacting young women and girls – explores how young women experience objectification across digital platforms, and how this impacts confidence, wellbeing and everyday safety. The research is laying the groundwork for new intervention resources designed to help mitigate risks and strengthen protections for girls and young women online.
